My pump.io presence is unstable...

sazius at

The server running my pump.io instance is probably on its last breath... my son rebooted it earlier today (he can't resist glowing buttons - and who can blame him?), and it took a few retries until it finally booted up again. I've seen this already for some time now, it just freezes in the bootup, and then starts working after a random number of retries. I have no idea what the problem is, and I don't have the time and energy to get to the bottom of it. It's an 8 year old Mac mini running Debian. I've already replaced the hard drive on it once.

So a heads up: if I suddenly disappear from the pumpiverse, I probably won't invest in another server I'm afraid. I might set up a new account on someone else's server, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm also @sazius@soc.ialis.me on Mastodon, and hopefully it will federate with pump.io soon :-)

Oh, you're right. It's old and stable :-)

Well, maybe the server will surprise me and still run along for a few years... it's hard to tell :-)

You're probably confusing with this site: https://c.ialis.me/ :-)
